People see the statement like a command from a tyrant,but it’s a statement out of love,the same way kids see instructions from their parents as their parents trying to control them,but in reality the parents’s instructions are not because they want to control you but protect you from unnecessary harm. If people look at God’s command from that perspective it will be easier to actually just love him, not just because he instructs us to but because it’s actually for our own good.
