Great description! I’ve always seen CORS as a hotel, you have a hotel owner (domain/address/backend/api) and to be able to make requests to that hotel you would need a key card which is your identifier (IP/Domain)

I think your analogy missed something important. The "Origin" part. Taking your house analogy a little further: The house has a family living in it and they all talk to each other freely. CORS applies to people not from that household because they are from a different place (origin).
