@rebecca.sharkey: More controversial edition. Don't hate me. More de-influencing you from all the things you think you need but are a huge waste of money and energy - from a former bride who's getting married again and not making any mistakes twice! #2026weddingtrends #brides #2027bride #deinfluencing #wedding
Honestly I hate seeing these posts. Majority of these things are traditional things for a wedding. They are the things that us women as little girls dreamed of - the perfect cake, the pictures, having your friends by your side. Just because you don’t care for them doesn’t mean us other brides do not either. Sincerely the bride who has been dreaming of her day for 30 long years ❤️

Will never understand the speech slander. Why are you at someone’s wedding if you can’t stand to hear 15 minutes of speeches about the couple and their love?

1) buy the shoes you love - shorten your dress in the front so the stunning designer shoes are visible. 2) weddings with no cake are a crime against humanity. 3) speeches can be great. Just make sure you have fun and engaging speakers.

Speeches & Cake are a must! They’re part of what makes it a wedding not just a party, tradition! Only 3 speeches approx 30 minutes in total and they come after the wedding breakfast - first father of the bride, then groom, then best man and stop. The three men have very specific jobs to do in the speeches and if done properly they’re fabulous. The cutting of the wedding cake is one of the oldest wedding traditions and symbolises the couple’s first task together as husband and wife. It represents teamwork, shared responsibility, and the promise to support one another in the life they are building. Traditionally, the bride’s hand is placed over the groom’s as they cut the first slice, showing unity and partnership. The cake itself symbolises prosperity, good fortune, and the sweetness of married life. My daughter is having every tradition going, she’s requested a very traditional bold English wedding 👌❤️She’s also requested a henny in Benny - far more her vibe than a meal out or a spa - no give us fancy dress, dwarfs to handcuff her to and a stripper 🤣🤣🤣 (and her 81 year old gran is going too 👵🏻)

Im 2026 bride and one thing i made - i will not want +1 to my wedding if me or my man have never met her/him. Also i made that clear to my relatives - never met, so not allowed to come, my wedding is not the place to introduce your girlfriend to family.

Why be here if you think speeches are too long. That’s one of the point of the reception. We could’ve just had a ceremony and send everyone home

I feel like people have never actually seen a garter toss that wasn’t deliberately weird to rage bait online, no one gets touched up and it doesn’t look like it😅💀

I agree with every single one of these! Getting married this year and just want to have a jolly nice time with people I love. Pics, cakes, speeches and uncomfy shoes can go in the bin!

Amazing! These little things are what actually push you over budget, they’re items that social media and Pinterest make you think you need.

Wedding cake is the best part of a wedding reception- last three weddings I’ve attended, no cake. I love wedding cake

Heavy on the “inviting everyone you should” my mom is already like “i don’t want anyone to feel left out” 🙄 we are paying for the wedding ourselves so we will invite only the people that we talk/ see regularly!
