I think the reason they can sometimes survive is because it isn't one explosion, even when directly hitting them the shockwave takes a moment to hit and apply enough sparks to explode a 1 sparked target, so if they can squeeze enough healing in between those two explosions they will live (just a guess i don't play that much pheonix)

as a Jean main, her ult is honestly best for comboing and countering. Otherwise, you miss whiffing your ult. In real situations, 90% of the roster has a way of evading her ult. Honestly any tank or dps ult is okay to combo with, but it’s best to combo with high CC ults or damage boosting ults like the vid mentioned! Countering ults like bucky, jeff, hela are all free picks too 😁🩷

Your guess is the whole reason. When you’re fighting 1v1 you get the 242 dmg plus whatever dmg the one shot you hit does. When that dmg your shot did gets healed. Then it won’t one shot

I believe what happens is the ult applies a stack, so if they’re at 1 they’ll be at 2, then the shock wave kills them (or more accurately the explosion from the stacks) I’m pretty sure that’s what’s going on

The reason her ult is killing and not killing is because of the start damage when u first land plus the damage from the stacks of u hit a target perfectly on target it usually won’t do the full damage as the start damage goes around the phoenix ult not inside so aim slightly off

The shock wave added sparks as well cause where you land is basically where the shock wave starts so be also adding sparks with the small big damage radius and the shock way adding sparks as well
