@imran.workplacementor: Managers will dump training a new colleague on you, and never give you the promotion. To make matters worse you won't even get paid for the extra responsibility. So this is how you will train new recruits from now on. Follow me as I help you survive the 9-5 whilst breaking down office politics and power dynamics at work. #imranworkplacementor #officepolitics #worklife #powerdynamics #worktraining
I might be able to teach someone my job, but that does not necessarily mean that I am able to manage a crew of several (or many) other workers; thus I will not be promoted to that management job.

1.make them feel welcome and part of the team 1st .it's not their fault .
2. take as long as you feel, to clearly explain what they need to know .
3.then take more time to make them feel welcome 😂
4., make it clear that you are not rewarded or been given the appropriate courses for the responsibility of training new recruits with management and recruit ,😂😂

I was asked once and my reply was, if I train someone then there is a possibility they would be picked over me if there were redundancies. Why would I want to reduce my chances of not being picked in a redundancy sweep.

Yeah but what about turning down the promotion because it puts you in golden handcuffs where the work to pay ratio is worse than not accepting the promotion. Then they hire someone less qualified for that role?

So should we be getting a training allowance, because they say it’s part of your job, but nobody wants to do it. And how should I back myself for extra

Did see a clip mentioning sending email in business speech confirming what exactly you need to train them on as you don’t find it constructive or a good idea to train or advise on the same thing that made you unsuitable for promotion. Cc new hire, maybe even HR

I applied for a team leader position, have acted in that position in the past just for them to appoint someone from outside, and still it's expected of me to act as team leader for the past 9 months while the new guy is being trained
