There was no need for Ra to appear. Slifer only appeared in a flashback of the final dual between Yugi and Atem and it was I believe the first god card Yugi encountered and Kaiba summoning the God card that was originally his makes sense. If they gave Ra an appearance it wouldn’t make any sense unless it to was in that flashback because that’s the he only thing that makes sense because they weren’t just going to flashback to Marik and Battle City

I stand by the belief Joey should have gotten the winged dragon of Ra. A dragon is totally Joey’s thing and it would go with his hair (lol). Plus Joey is a dueling legend and deserved to be remembered with a God card. Both the underdog’s forgotten together somehow.
