I was SAd for 13 years by adoptive father. During that time and for 10+ years after I left, I described it as a "relationship". The first thing we do is victim blame ourselves. Then we slowly soft the blame to where it is deserved, while still feeling culpable. It took me 30 years before I could place the blame solely where it belongs. He clearly isn't listening and isn't a safe space for the women in his life
