You are no longer auto mechanics. You are now electro-mechanical engineers but getting paid mechanics wages. These manufacturers need to allow updates and reboots to factory settings in order to diagnose issues. As you stated, otherwise you run the risk of adding more problems with updates and you can’t pull back the updates.

We don’t want computers on our vehicles. It only causes more issues don’t the road. And plus the government can totally take control of your vehicles with computers

Should be auto updates. And I wonder if this the issue my first car had. Fine till the 12th year then that engine light came on and I was throwing in so much money to fix it but everything the dealer did was not the solution. And yes I went to several shops, no one could fix it even they say they did the light came back on.

My 24 Blazer RS decided to update while getting gas at Costco! Took almost 20mins...couldn't start it until it was finished 🙄 I was the life of the Costco party that day 😬

With Nissans, basically anytime they had ecm codes or a driveability concern with no codes I couldnt duplicate, I updated the ecm
