I always have days when I question if I’m an alcoholic or not and those are the days that make me realise I’m an alcoholic. My little brain is trying to trick me into thinking I can drink again. Not tonight Josephine.

Just celebrated 26 years of being sober. I honestly think people forget how it takes over as the pain and struggles are gone. For me I know I have a relapse in me if I choose but I do not think I have another recovery in me and that really keeps me honest.

I’m 64 and I’ve tried several times to quit drinking . It never stuck because I thought I could just drink responsibly this time. I never could. I quit drinking in January 2024 but this time was different. Every other time is because I’ve done something stupid. This time is because I could not handle how horrible I felt when I didn’t drink and I wanted that to stop.
