If your intention is to pay off the car earlier anyways, you can opt for the longer loan term with lower payments then just make principal payments to pay off the car quicker. You get lower monthly payments and then make higher payments on principal. By doing this you don’t have to wait the full loan term to own the car and won’t have the to pay all that interest.

Loan term is less important than interest rate & payment relative to income. Loan term could be 18 years, but if payment is 6% of my income & interest rate is 4%, I’m gonna be consistently getting wealthier every year!
