@bailey.artstudios: Why I do a Monday warmup: For most of the week I’m deep in the zone, strategically planning out which layers each painting can handle for the week, the best timing to get them done, what needs to be dry by when, etc. But I’ve learned that when I’m coming back from a weekend spent away from the easel, it helps to have a little fun one or two hour project to help me get back in the swing of things. Something where the stakes for each brushstroke aren’t too high, and I can get back into pushing color and composition. This week for my Monday warmup I painted a gouache Laguna beach landscape postcard for @lpapamembers ‘s postcard auction. 🥰
