For new people, I started with 3 mile runs at about 10:30 pace. 1 year later just finished a HALF marathon at 8:36 pace

my favorite thing is that even when I take breaks and I come back, I am Never in the starting line. even after months of not running , I can do things I wasn't able to in the beginning. I still consider myself a beginner

Couldn't agree more, as a runner of 10 years too..
No fancy business, just a good pair of trainers. No running vests, empty stomach. Glucose etc are not necessary for all runs, unless doing a marathon. Which I personally do not have any interest in - think sustained exercise is actually counterproductive...

Love this!! Want to add for my girls w ED/exercise addiction history trying to approach running healthily: while ur mind does give up before your body, you don’t need to push yourself to 10/10 exhaustion to get a solid run in. Go slow, take walking breaks to reconnect with your breathe before your body is screaming at you. That will help with endurance to finish your run strong— and ENJOYMENT, which is what really creates a sustainable running practice 💖
