![ʾAmīr al-Muʾminīn wa-Khalīfat al-Muslimīn, ʿĀʾidh Bayt Allāh, Fāris al-Khulafāʾ, Ḥamāmat al-Masjid: ʿAbdullāh ibn az-Zubayr ibn al-ʿAwwām al-Asadī al-Qurashī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) Lineage and Birth: He was the son of az-Zubayr ibn al-ʿAwwām (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhu), one of the ten promised Jannah, the grandson of ʾAbū Bakr aṣ-Ṣiddīq (through his mother Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr) and the nephew of ʿĀʾishah (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhā). His Ibādah: His Role in the Time of the Rightly-Guided Khulafāʾ: During the Khilāfah of ʿUmar, ʿUthmān, and ʿAlī (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhum), ʿAbdullāh ibn az-Zubayr distinguished himself such as Battles and Expeditions. He fought courageously at: Yarmūk, al-Jalūlāʾ, and Ṣiffīn. He was known for riding at the front lines After the death of Yazīd ibn Muʿāwiyah, the governance of the Umayyads collapsed in many regions. The people of al-Ḥijāz, Yaman, ʿIrāq, Khurāsān, Miṣr [i.e, Egypt], and parts of ash-Shām gave bayʿah to ʿAbdullāh ibn az-Zubayr. Many of the greatest of the Tābiʿīn acknowledged him as the legitimate Amīr al-Muʾminīn. His Martyrdom: In 73 AH [692 CE], the Ṭaghūt al-Ḥajjāj ibn Yūsuf [Laʿanahu Allāhu ʿalayhi] besieged Makkah for months, bombarding even the Masjid al-Ḥarām with catapults. Most people, exhausted and starving, abandoned their pledge. His mother Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr nearly 100 years old rebuked him when he considered surrender. But he went out bravely, fought until he was overwhelmed, and was martyred beside the Kaʿbah. Al-Ḥajjāj mutilated him, but ʿAbd al-Malik rebuked the act, and his body was later returned with honor to his mother and he was buried in Jannah al-Muʿallāh which is a cemetery located to the north of Masjid al-Ḥarām, and near the Masjid of the Jinn in Makkah, Saʿūdī ʿArabīa. أمير المؤمنين وخليفة المسلمين، عائذ بيت الله، فارس الخلفاء، حمامة المسجد: عبد الله بن الزبير بن العوام الأسدي القرشي رضي الله عنه النسب والميلاد: كان ابن الزبير بن العوام رضي الله عنه، أحد العشرة المبشرين بالجنة، وحفيد أبي بكر الصديق (من جهة أمه أسماء بنت أبي بكر)، وابن أخت عائشة رضي الله عنها. عبادته: دوره في زمن الخلفاء الراشدين: في خلافة عمر، وعثمان، وعلي رضي الله عنهم، تميز عبد الله بن الزبير في المعارك والبعوث. فقد قاتل بشجاعة في اليرموك، والجلولاء، وصفين، وكان معروفا بالتقدم في الصفوف الأولى. وبعد وفاة يزيد بن معاوية، انهارت سلطة بني أمية في كثير من الأقاليم، فبايع أهل الحجاز، واليمن، والعراق، وخراسان، ومصر، وأجزاء من الشام عبد الله بن الزبير، وقد أقر له كثير من كبار التابعين بأنه أمير المؤمنين الشرعي. استشهاده: في سنة ٧٣ هـ ٦٩٢م، حاصر الطاغوت الحجاج بن يوسف لعنه الله عليه مكة أشهرا، ورمى حتى المسجد الحرام بالمجانيق. وقد تفرق عنه أكثر الناس من شدة الجوع والإعياء. وقد عاتبته أمه أسماء بنت أبي بكر، وكانت قد قاربت ١٠٠ من عمرها، حين هم بالاستسلام. فخرج شجاعا، وقاتل حتى غلب، واستشهد عند الكعبة. وقد مثل به الحجاج، ثم أنكر عبد الملك ذلك، وأعيد جسده بعد ذلك مكرما إلى أمه، فدفن في جنة المعلاة، وهي مقبرة تقع شمال المسجد الحرام، وقريبة من مسجد الجن بمكة المكرمة، في المملكة العربية السعودية.](/video/cover/7621591968371510559.webp)
