it took me like a week to process it bc suddenly everything made sense. it wasn't just "i feel like shit and i dont know why" now there is a name to it. I recognize when I get overstimulated or overwhelmed. Its good because i can manage it better but personally it also makes me feel bad about myself but not too much. I dont want to be medicated so I have a semi strict daily routine which helps sooo much with getting things done. With adhd, if you want things to be smoother, you can't just rawdog life, you need a plan. knowing is the first step though. dont let it get you down twin

I got diagnosed as a teenager and then they changed my diagnosis multiple times throughout my adulthood, but I got diagnosed about a year ago. Medication changed my life! It wasn’t until I got with my current boyfriend that I realize just how badly I am affected without it. Within three months of being off my medication, I lost my car, my license, my job, my house, almost everything. Safe to say I am medicated now.

Changed my life. I didn’t realize how depressed I was, just wanted to bed rot & my emotional unavailability hurt my relationships. Simply making breakfast felt sooo stressful for no reason. No way I was doing hair or skin care. Could not remember ANYTHING no matter how important. I’m a totally different person now

I’m diagnosed but unmedicated due to my father not believing 3 different therapist 😭

it primarily allowed me to stop being gaslit by family/employers. I now have an "authority said" paper that shows that I'm not lazy/crazy/whatever. still not medicated though. that stuff is poison and should be a last line option. making the lifestyle and dietary changes in line with ADHD were massively helpful for me in its place

I started doing stuff I put off for years. Dentists, doctors, emailing. Stuff I would always put off I could do in 10 minutes. Being able to focus on something and not have a million other thoughts is so helpful & I get stuff done SOO much quicker

doctors are going to start you at a low dose either way like i'm on 5 mg focalin for add and if you don't like it then stop but it is so worth trying and seeing how much it changes your work ethic. it's kinda hard to get tho bc it's a controlled substance so go to a doctor who you know first like your primary care physician
