They think that we marry four wives, even though it is permissible; however, more than 90% of Muslims are married to one wife, and she is sufficient for them. I have been married to one wife for 25 years. She is religious and committed, and we have wonderful sons and daughters together. She is a wonderful wife in her faith and devotion, and in my eyes she is better than the treasures of this world. I have never once thought of marrying another, and all praise is due to Allah for His blessings and grace.

I think people think all Muslims have 4 wives. I live in a predominately Muslim country and never seen or heard of any man having 2 3 4 wives. My Muslim husband said it happened a little after War as a lot of women were widowed and men married them to stop them from starving as no government help at the time. Now the government steps in to help so no need to marry

is it true that the concept of having multiple wife's in islam, was to help women who have been divorced or widowed so they aren't left raising children without a father figure. I cant remember if I read that or ive imagined it.
