@hiwotebekele: For starters, I didn’t really think about weight loss until I was over a year postpartum. Why? Because retaining fat postpartum is actually protective. Breastfeeding and recovery require a lot from the body, and holding on to weight is part of how our bodies support healing and milk production. Also, every body, every mom, and every situation is different, so it’s important to look at the full picture instead of just the number on the scale. For me, food made a big difference. In the early postpartum days, you eat whatever is available and accessible. But once I started cooking for myself in a way that truly made my body feel good, the weight began to come off naturally. That was encouraging, so I focused on nourishment first before adding any type of exercise. If you’re currently postpartum, focus on nourishing your body physically, mentally, and spiritually. Be gentle with yourself and take it one step at a time. But what about exercise? Stay tuned for Part 2. #postpartumjourney #postpartumhealing #Fourthtrimester
