Despite being the capital of the Cyclades Islands (Mykonos, Milos, Santorini etc. 🌊), this island isn’t as well-known as other islands in the region… but after visiting here myself, I’m shocked it’s not! It’s also is just a 40-minute ferry ride from Mykonos ⛴ so if you’re in Mykonos and looking for an easy day trip, this could be a great option. This island is an all-year-round island mainly loved by Greek tourists 🇬🇷 ….you’ll hardly spot any Brits 🇬🇧, Aussies 🇦🇺 or Americans 🇺🇸 here (which means the crowds are nice and manageable even in peak summer). The island is just as beautiful as other Greek Islands in the Cyclades (with its own unique charm) but much more affordable 💸 compared to places like Mykonos. THIS IS SYROS 🇬🇷🌺🐈 The capital of Syros is Ermoupoli, where you’ll find gorgeous marble streets 🏛 that make this spot look like a mix between Greece, Italy 🇮🇹 and the South of France 🇫🇷. Around the island you’ll find stunning beaches 🏖, boujee beach clubs 🍹, some of the best Greek food you’ll ever eat and of course whitewashed houses lined with that famous pink bougainvillea 🌺.
