I think Christophe Gans just needs an experienced scriptwriter who can properly adapt his creative vision. Roger Avery who co-wrote Pulp Fiction was responsible for the script in the first film. In The Return Gans was completely in charge of the script which is why it turned out so badly. Christophe Gans is an excellent director but a poor scriptwriter

We need someone who knows the inspirations (Jacob’s Ladder, Angel Heart, Twin Peaks, Lost Highway) and can approach is in a way that isn’t a typical horror film. Someone like Kim Jee-woon, Arkasha Stevenson or Ben Wheatley would be great.
