“Why’d they take the role” it’s apart of an actors career (esp just starting out) to take roles they don’t like bc exposure gets them more work. You think Latino actors wld take thug #1 if a character study on a depressed father trying therapy for the first time was also on the table for him? Or an Asian actress would choose thick caricature accent tiger mom over woman searches for missing husband becoming survivalist. BIPOC actors are often left these roles bc that’s all that’s out there for them. That’s why it’s important to have diversity behind the scenes so the only nuanced characters aren’t just 🤚🏻
