@metropolitan_connection: Juvenile Probation Detention Officer Arrested on Drug Charge EL PASO, TX – On January 22, 2026, deputies assigned to the Juvenile Probation Department were notified by detention staff of a suspected white powdery substance found within a secure area of the facility. A review of security footage showed 49-year-old Jacob Montes, a Juvenile Probation Department detention officer, dropping a clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance onto the floor. The substance later tested positive for cocaine. Montes was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a charge of Prohibited Item in a Correctional Facility.
