Standing at 17½in x 9½in this is Grarjary. I absolutely adore the glaze on him. Yet another part of my series of big weird homunculi. A very important part of this project for me is to make a lot of variation in the aesthetics of these creatures while still having some sort of familiar through line and I love how different he is to the others I have made in this series so far. To me he represents a level of self-assurance. Feeling comfortable being bold and being yourself, presenting yourself in a way that you want to no matter how other people think you should present yourself because of who you are supposed to be. I feel his confidence really comes through with his larger size and bombastic colors making him very hard to ignore. Definitely my favorite thing to come out of the kiln from this most recent firing! I love his mustache and unibrow, after I made him all I could think about was the dad from cloudy with a Chance of meatballs lol. I will hopefully be posting some more of these bigger guys pretty soon. I love how psychedelic and offbeat this guy is. I felt he paired well with one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands @scapegoatwax I discovered the group couple years ago through my love for jet set radio and have been relistening to their albums essentially on a loop ever since. Freeway and crawlin' our songs I listen to on almost a daily basis and I felt freeway really meshed well with the vibe this guy has. Really working on trying to post more often, it's hard because a lot of the stuff I make is stuff that you can't really Rush making. But I would like to be more consistent and share more of my work more often. As you can see I'm kind of testing out different video styles pretty regularly, you guys seem to like the last one so I hope you enjoy this one!
