Respekt vor einer Maschine ist gut. Hat man jedoch Angst vor der Maschine sollte man sie nicht benutzen.

as a fellow carpenter/woodworker, i want to give you some tips especially if youre just getting your sea legs back after an accident.
first, if you look at the board it is cupped making it more likely to wobble side to side. flip the board over then you have 2 points of contact stabilizing it as you push it through.

fafo ,good luck maybe stop what you are trying to do ,before you get hurt ,loose a finger ,or that board comes back and smacks you so hard you wish you listened ,after getting teeth replaced and surgery ,but you know it all ,so good luck butter cup , it's obvious you don't know what you are doing so take some classes before you do anything else please for the love of God

When cutting nominal lumber that wide on a table saw you should check for cupping. If the board was flipped the other way (concave) you would have likely found it more stable and easier to push through accurately.

A piece that size you can safely use your hand and have much better control.

Taking a woodworking class helped me get over my fear of using a table saw. I would definitely recommend taking one if you have the time. This video was how i was when we first started using them.

We all started somewhere and learned along the way. I was just more worried it will kick back from the warped board pinching the blade.

You did good. I know you weren’t going all the way through so you may have done it on purpose but when cutting a cupped board it can be helpful to turn it concave side down so it doesn’t rock. Not criticism just tips for the future in case you did not know.

There are two kinds of videos showing people using table saw. The first kind shows people being careless and reckless, showing zero respect for the power and dangerousness of the saw. The second time shows people who are scared to death of the thing. Both attitudes are likely to end badly.

So wie du Angst vor der säge hast solltest du das andere machen. Respekt vor einer Maschine ist wichtig aber das ist eher Angst
