Am I selfish?, I listen, sometimes I truly don’t know how to respond, (and I don’t go on for hours about my problems, I just don’t talk about them—) but, when I do think of something, i pause what im doing and talk to them straight about it..and apologize for not knowing what to say in the moment.

I genuinely listen and care for others’ problems, i just never know what to say 😭 i get stuck at “omg…really? I’m so sorry for you, that’s so bad” etc

Sometimes a person’s plate is so full they can’t put anything else on it. Someone leaning on your strength isn’t always looking for a transactional sharing of problems. With that being said, if they never hear your problems, even when they have the capacity, that’s a behavior. Look for the patterns and protect your energy. Good luck!
