Gold is currently over 5k an ounce. An average IWC watch weighs between two to five ounces. On the low end your looking around 12k on the higher end your looking 30k to 40k. Most basic IWCs go for around 10k to 15k. There are outliers but in most cases the gold is worth more then the watch. It’s a sad day for collectors indeed

Gold is a hedge it retains value. When gold prices climb it’s because the value of your currency goes down. So gold prices climbing is not a good thing
