I got black out drunk when I was 15. I stole a bottle from a store and then drank almost the whole thing until I fell over, vomited and tried taking another sip and then immediately threw up again, I then walked for a bit and noticed a park that I wanted to go on but I walked past it and by the time I realised I walked past it I tried to walk back to it but I was so drunk that I just fell down and passed out for it before waking up to police standing over me and then suddenly being in an ambulance and then suddenly I was in hospital with a bunch of nurses it my room and then I fully blacked out and eventually passed out and woke up with cannula in my arm connected to a saline bag because apparently I was refusing water and kept throwing up.... honestly it was really fun and I kinda miss it, 100% would do again if I could.

That is such a tough topic to research, considering it would mostly rely on self-reported data regardless of the age or demographic 🤔 now I'm incredibly curious on how we can turn this into a controlled study, but I'm actually stumped.

what if you had a drunk dial line that people could call when extremely intoxicated, and then a researcher could answer, and ask any questions they might have for someone who could potentially be in a blackout state? then you'd have The person's number to follow up at a time when they're more likely to be sober, to find out if they did blackout, and explore potential for further study.

I have memories from nights out where there are chunks of elapsed time where I have no recollection. Like I’d end up in a new location, but I don’t remember how I got there, yet I remember the rest of the night. Would this be browning out or blacking out?

As a pilot, this absolutely is mostly false, and entirely depends on if it's a brown-out or red-out. Alcohol/blood oxygenation level is an entirely different thing.

I was switching birth control pills, and in the first week I drank like half a bottle of wine and blacked out because of it. Never happened before or after, I am thinking that hormonal changes were the reason

Ok so real question…I recently read (recently watched a TikTok) that said sometimes people with ADHD will completely forget/fail to form memories of conversations and periods of time when drinking…even smaller amounts of alcohol. Is there any truth to that? Bc that often happens to me, even after a couple drinks. I’ll remember at the time, but not the next day. Very frustrating and I never knew why but maybe it’s related to my ADHD. Just curious how true it may be.

Ive only ever blacked out once and it wasnt when drinking more than I would usually. It was a bottle of wine, i remember the last sip and bang, waking up tucked into a friends bed. Drunk plenty more before and after yet cannot think of why it would of happened then.
