@jacob_desio: Part 1. Forest Gump fans will often call Jenny the villain of the film, as there are countless videos and comments about it on the internet, but this isn’t true at all. Jenny is a victim that has a skewed perspective of the world because of her trauma and she is learning to survive in a world full of abusive men that target her. She cares for Forest, protects him, and spends her final days with him…Jenny is a fantastic person considering all she went through and this is exactly why Forest cares about her so much. #analysis #movie #moviereview #forestgump #filmtok
Jenny isn’t a misogyny symbol. She’s a trauma case. Forrest Gump shows a woman repeating chaos because stability feels unsafe. Trauma explains her choices, but it doesn’t erase responsibility. Turning that into ‘men bad’ is just dodging accountability.

people want a perfect victim and the truth is there isn't one, just people trying to survive with what they know.

People also fail to realize that this movie takes place in mostly 50s-70s rural Alabama. Mental health stigma was rampant and treatment options were scarce at best, and problematic at worst (see what Mrs. Gump had to do to get her special needs son into school)

Whole movie is white racist propaganda! From Forest’s name origin, to Bubba Gump, to how they represent the Black Panther Party, etc

It was a miracle she lived as long as she did, and that she was able to transition so peacefully

She isn’t a villain but she is the antagonist. She chooses to live life differently and the story is about the contrast of how she and Forrest move through this life. Forrest was abused as well: saw horrors, friends die, but he chose to continue to live on whereas Jenny doesn’t move on until later.

So refreshing to hear, especially coming from a man in Trump’s America. The misogyny lately has been rampant and loud.
