I’ve noticed a major trope where characters never say 'bye' before hanging up. As someone in the industry, can you explain why Hollywood opts for that abruptness instead of the way people actually talk in real life?

Have you ever seen pictures of the interior of the car used in the TV show “Car share” ? Almost every scene in the show is shot inside a car, the dash has about half a movie studio attached to it.
