@markhasara: Everyone knows about the wake turbulence behind big airliners and how dangerous spacing between aircraft is. Helicopters have wake turbulence behind them also because of the main rotor downwash. Powerful downwash and trailing vorticies created by the rotating blades produce similar disturbances like wingtip vortices.
