The Lagos State Parking Authority, LASPA, says it has begun enforcing parking permit compliance across its operational zones in Lagos. The enforcement is aimed at improving compliance and accountability, according to LASPA. It is also expected to strengthen parking management across the state. The move comes months after LASPA identified 200 roads in Ikeja for a proposed on-street parking pilot scheme. Ikeja Record reported in May that the pilot was expected to begin in July 2026. It is unclear whether the current enforcement covers the identified roads. The relationship between the parking permits and the proposed on-street parking charges also remain unclear. Ikeja Record contacted LASPA for clarification on the scope of the enforcement. We also asked about penalties for defaulters and the status of the Ikeja pilot scheme.
