if you lost your income and needed it covered for 12 months wouldn't you be able to do your own childcare, if you're not working? including nursery fees seems ott to me

The comments - What’s wrong with Monzo? I’ve been using them for the past 7-8 years and have had a great experience.

Monzo pay 2.75% currently. Not very good. Raisin are 4-5% easy access. Zopa regular saver at 7.1% max £300 per month. Move your current stash monthly to the max and make the most of it.

I have 3-6 months of emergency savings in cash. I then have 4x that in a stocks n shares ISA so if I really need it, I can pull it out almost instantly, but whilst I don't need it, it's hopefully getting a better return than savings accounts. Congrats on saving so much but that's so much money to have being eaten by inflation! I hope you have investments too to offset the loss.

Great amount of money and respect for stacking that. Fearful of putting such an amount in a non-traditional bank though but respect where due.

For a family I agree 42000 for 12 months is very good. I would say 6 months is better for single people as you have no back up income. Thanks for sharing

I think you should take it out of monzo, you’ll probably end up regretting it otherwise.
