@drevanlevine: For mosr your treated blood pressure should be no higher than 120/80. So if your told to be happy with 138/80 because it was 160/90 that's not good enough and may increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart failure. #fyp #medicalstudent #bloodpressurecheck #heart #medicine
I'm on Metroprolol, losartan , Amlodipine and lasts. I'm at an average BMI, exercise and eat a great diet with sodium restriction. I still struggle to get my blood pressure to 130/80. I'm at a loss as to how to get it to the normal level. Any suggestions?

Blood pressure is measured when we’re resting .But the blood pressure is always higher when we’re moving or doing something. For somebody who is doing manual work it is high all the time at least eight hours a day! How’s the logic of blood pressure control works in this case?

Logging BP is important. My recent visit at my Cardiologist it was 160/91 but my log showed consistent around 125/75

A 120 systolic number makes me feel like I can’t get off the couch. So tired. I’m sure the docs are gonna tell me how bad this is but I prefer 135 systolic. At least I have enough energy to exercise that way.

What if blood pressure is 120/80 but pulse is constantly in the 80s? Is there a different medicine for this?

So when your doctor actually tells you 130/80 is fine, they take into account "white coat syndrome" and you really are fine?
Because if the Doctor says 130/80 isn't fine and ups your medication, there is a real risk of over-medication?

How about if middle aged man, low risk (no diabeties, apolipo a and b wnl, hscrp very low), but bp averages 125/70s over the last year at home first thing in the morning? Would you medicate this?
