@coach_mundy_: Can’t get any easier than this. If anyone chooses to argue after this, they’re forcing it and just stuck in their emotional attachments. - A shoulder press CAN be great for side delts IF you are: A) traveling with an arm path away from the SIDE of your body (abduction) - B) Using a grip where your elbows are between 90-110 degrees of elbow flexion (technically extension) at the bottom of your press to avoid unnecessary tricep involvement. The more your upper arm gets in front of you, the upper pecs will contribute more. So you don’t wanna end up where you’re beyond the scapular plane. Look to stay as close to the frontal plane as possible. Simply think stay as close to your sides as possible. If you lack shoulder mobility.. OBVIOUSLY work on it. It just a need to improve external rotation. - I never said “don’t do lateral raises”. But I’ll probably get stitched claiming that I did. No biggie. Do as you please with the total recommended volume (pinned posts). Idc what you do, I’m simply giving you advice/things to think about and acknowledge. - Homework: -planes of motion -abduction, scaption, shoulder flexion. (What contributes to each) -no significant/statistical difference
