My parents had a baby together, gave her up for adoption. Ended up getting married and having 4 more kids. We found this sister around age 55 (after our mom died) thru 23 and me. I went to the same high school..at the same time. She looks exactly like one of my younger sisters.

I have a story like that! I was adopted at birth and never knew anything about birth family. Fast forward some 50 years and a 23 and Me test netted me two half siblings and a cousin. And the kicker is that I was born in another state and yet I currently find myself smack dab in between my sisters (one in LA and the other in Santa Barbara!). And our shared biological father was living a half mile from my office. But wait - there’s more! I grew up in Northern California and they were all about an hour from me for all those years. AND I found out that I went to college with the cousin. We were all blown away. So yeah…can relate to this wild story! 😊

I was adopted by a minister and his wife when I was about a year and a half old. I met my birth family when I was 25. My birth parents never told their families about my birthday previous to this. When I first met my paternal grandmother, she took me for a drive to introduce me to her best friend. After I was adopted, we lived about 16 km from the town I was born in for two years before moving out of province for many years. As we were driving up to her friend’s driveway, everything started to feel strangely familiar. Then I saw her pool — and that felt familiar too. When we were introduced, she asked my last name. It turned out she had gone to the same church where my adoptive father was the pastor. When I was a little girl, we used to visit their home, and I would swim in her pool. There’s a good chance I had even met my grandmother back then, since the two of them had been best friends for decades. 😊

Absolutely loved the quill writing! 😂😂😂 To make a 50+ journey into a short synopsis, ancestry.com reunited me with a son I had been searching for since I was 16 years old. Back in those days, the adults generally assumed control and forced me to give my son up for adoption. He knew he was adopted, but had been told that his birth parents had both died. I don’t know if you can imagine a mother’s joy and a son’s knowledge that he had a mother who had been searching for him his whole life. That was seven years ago, and our love knows no bounds. 🥰

Finger down here. I was adopted and searched for my biological family. Found out I had a brother named Dale. We were like 2 Peas in a pod. Nearly drove our mother crazy. That was almost 41 years ago. Dale came to Houston by way of Arizona and I came to Houston from California. We lived within 5 miles of each other and crossed paths continually. Even had P.O. boxes at the same post office. Pam.
