@sourflowervinegar: Tangelos that were going unharvested now have a home 😋 A friend reached out to help harvest a tangelo orchard as the owners had no where to sell the fruit. This is where the community steps in and makes sure nothing goes to waste! We saved 139lbs and barely scratched the surface .. already planning a 2nd harvest. In fact, this is how we get all the fruit we use to brew, we do not seek but instead wait until fruit trees in need present themselves. There is a story just like this one behind all the different vinegars we brew. Due to seasonality and abundance, this is why our fruit vinegars are constantly rotating - no single “staple” vinegar. Many residential properties on Big Island in particular have fruit trees that produce more than what is needed to feed their families, and often the fruit ends up on the ground.
