Can I ask a question? I’ve been asking the dad to give me a day notice or to create a schedule for months. But he continues to ask to get him the day of. He claims that he doesn’t know his work schedule till day of but notice is the only way I will be prepared/adjust my work schedule if needed. Im not saying no, but I can’t just leave work randomly on his time. Am I wrong for wanting a notice or a schedule?

My problem is that my bd does things to make him seen as the good and fun parent, but in reality is not like that.. example: he put my son in baseball and he goes to every game but he retains information from me or take my son to games/practices even when we agree to not taking him because he is sick or grounded so I am the one who is missing the games. And this is just an example of a million things he does

And what are the tips for when the other parent uses clever manipulation to put down sports he doesn’t want the kids to do and elevates the sports that he wants them to do (and be coach)? The kids feel the need to please him because they don’t want the consequences of feeling unloved if they don’t please him? What if they tell the one parent how much they want to do something but come back from the other house with the complete opposite opinion? How does that get proven?! Some parents are highly skilled manipulators who are able to cause people to truly believe it was their idea to change their mind?

What about a mother who refuses to let the children see their dad because she don’t like his wife. Serious question. She wants control. We go long periods then she gets mad and withholds them while filling their heads he’s a bad dad, but asks for them and is denied.

My kids father has not paid his share of therapy for our kids for 9 months now. He doesn’t believe they need it. But he signed the parenting plan that state either of us can seek counseling for them and we each pay a percentage. When he up and left almost a year ago and just stopped seeing them, they did not take it well. They were 3 and 5 at the time and started running away from the house and acting up. When they ran from the house that’s when I decided to put them in therapy because they had never done any of this before and they were crying every night for him. But he still doesn’t think they need it so he doesn’t pay me back for any of it.

I completely agree parents should be child focused, but ultimately i do think extracurriculars should be up to each parent/family. Not having your kid in sports doesnt make you not “child focused”.
