I “taught” Waldorf and now teach toddlers in MONTESSORI- no comparison. Waldorf felt like over priced daycare play. Lol Montessori - child chooses work, early academics, focused on independence 😁

as an undiagnosed autistic kid with undiagnosed autistic parents, my mum knew mainstream school probably wouldn't be great for me when I was really little so tried Montessori but I was having panic attacks all the time, then she put me in waldorf and I was much better off for a couple of years.

why can't they be combined 😩 I keep seeing Waldorf OR Montessori schools (which I didn't even know was a thing) but I really like both ideologies and think a balance would be much more beneficial than just focusing on one 🤔 just my thoughts as a ftm figuring out how I want to raise my baby 😊

I went to Waldorf school and it was more like the one you described as Montessori… I don’t know where this train of thought came from that Waldorf is just playing.

I saw a Montessori daycare kids playing independent but alone so sad.. I like groups share experiences

Montessori is mostly about self guided exploration, while Waldorf gives personality exams that funnel children into pre prescribed pseudoscientific “temperaments” that guide what activities they are supposed to participate in. but yeah sure. idk why all Waldorf kids think Montessori is rigid when it’s literally the opposite.

I work montessori and much prefer it. Children still have imaginative play outside. Its not as strict as many are seeming to think.
