@jayprehistoricpets: It’s easy to forget that we live on such a wonderful planet 🌎 with so many diverse creatures! When I look at hornbills 🐦 I’m immediately reminded of the dinosaurs. Working with reptiles, it’s like looking at an offshoot of a long lost form of life. Hornbills look like a Pterodactyl’s cousin. At least to me anyway. These guys are really interesting, their bills are kind of like helmets they’re made of keratin and they’re called casques and they are designed for signaling and for fighting as well! They even eat lizards and snakes! 🐍 They’re also dimorphic, meaning you can tell a Hornbill is a male by its red eyes 👀
