Anyone that likes this movie should watch the other big movie by this director 'synechdoche new york'. Both are very challenging watches that explore isolation, fantasy, dreams and life dissatisfaction. But while ending things is closed in, synecdoche is grand and all encompassing. The ending is also one of my favourites. Having seen synecdoche also really helped me figure out ending things on a first watch.

The movie is an absolute masterpiece. It’s more for people who enjoy deep and thoughtful storytelling. You don’t watch this film just out of boredom, it’s a piece of art that you can reflect on and engage with for a long time. People who think the movie is bad or boring simply didn’t understand it.

The movie is about an old man going through all of the memories of his life and the things he wishes he had done. That’s why the movie is so trippy. He basically has a bunch of regrets about his life and goes through the memories in a dream like state.
