why have I never thought of using a string to hang something like that. I literally avoid buying pictures that have these hangers for this reason alone. Also the shelf is adorable.

Putting the string on the back makes it much less stable. If you’re going to put a plant on it, especially a viny one, don’t do this.

you can just use some painters tape to Mark the distance, level that on a wall and put in some nails. takes like 30 seconds and will be infinitely more secure
