They forced insurance companies to accept pre-existing conditions. The companies passed the extra expense to the population so they could keep their profits high. And then the government subsidized the costs to try and hide the fact ObamaCare was a failure.

When insurance could reject people for preexisting conditions you had millions not insured because they count afford it. You would fear going to the doctor because a diagnosis means you could never change insurances; which also means you can’t change jobs. It was a far worse system. 82% of people wanted reform.

Before the Affordable Care Act if you were sick and didn’t have insurance you couldn’t get insurance and you died.
