My aunt married a guy later in life. He was like a district manager there or something. One of my cousins had a birthday party and we actually got to SPEND THE NIGHT in discovery zone. All night. It was absolutely magical.

I remember it distinctly smelled like dirty socks. There was also a tube slide with notches on the ceiling you’d “climb up” and there’d always be a person ahead of you and one right behind you and the kid at the top would freak out and stop, so it was incredibly claustrophobic!

Had my first kiss at discovery zone. A random boy kissed me and I ran away and escaped via the big slide. I told my dad who went and told the kids dad and that poor boy got a spanking on his birthday. Ah, memories.

My mom used to take me to DZ because it was significantly cheaper than Chuck E. Cheese. Personally, I remember loving Discovery Zone waaay more than the Cheese.

I vaguely remember this place I did a paper on it back in college apparently the business collapsed because of greedy parents. The company kept selling injury claims after injury claim. Which an independent investigator followed up on in 2005-2010 and found that 85% of them were just greedy parents looking for a quick cash grab.
