I understand where you’re coming from, and you certainly entitled to feel that way, but, I think that most of these benefits are to raise money and awareness, but also to come up with a cure. so to see people that are surviving will give other people hope . This should make you feel like you’re progressing in the fight against whatever cancer the benefit is for . 💕

You need both...people who have lost and the people who nearly came close to dying, they too have suffered and live with the fact it can come back, like my friend who has gone through 4 different cancers and it will one day will die from cancer.

Yes! I would feel someone slapped me across the face! Like thanks for the reminder that I wasn’t special to have a loved one survived

I wasn’t even aware that this happened. How strange. Even if those speakers have the best of intentions, which I’m certain they do, I feel the point of the speech should be to bring comfort and connection - not single out those who’s experiences are far more dire or in some cases have already reached worst case scenario. I’m sorry this happens, and thank you for continually sharing with us the details of your experience. Not only does it help us better serve our bereaved friends and family, it reminds us just how lucky we are to not know this experience. Your story is so important. Thank you DeAnna ❤

I agree - these should be separate events - memorializing and celebrating surviving are not the same. 🌸🩷

And if they credit their survival to God, prayer. That’s a punch in the gut.

I absolutely agree. A loss is something you can NEVER speak about until you go through it. The survivors are very lucky and their stories deserve to be shared but not at the same event. My heart breaks for you DeAnna. 💔

Truthfully, we do not want to hear that. I never ever wanted this to happen to any one and I always will feel that and I wish I could cure this shit. But most of us lost … so, *uhhhhhhhg*. A lot of people won’t understand this thinking though Deanna 🤣 OR maybe more relate than you think! Because you say the damn shit👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 out loud lol

Yes, I remember that politician with the crooked eye at mommy’s walk. She was still in a wheelchair and that asshole says not many people survive this type of cancer. I looked at this man like are you a jerk you have my sister in a wheelchair dying of cancer and he goes ahead and says that and yes people who have lost should be up there speaking you have every right to feel this way I get it. We are happy that people are pulling through, but our loss is so deep and people have died in our family. We can’t help to feel anything else 💔
