to the defense of nephrologists, many non-HD nephro consults that get an "hydrate, avoid nephrotoxins" note make me go "well I mean what else is there to add for this AKI......"

tbf in some hospitals I've worked at the nephrologists be the ones I've seen board certified intensivists go to for help. but that could just be my bias - not a neph dr.
