I've only lived in Boston for 4 years, so this is my first time seeing this phenomenon, but honestly, it feels like saving a space, period, after a certain point, especially depending on the area, which is not okay the rest of year. I don't feel like you have a right to a spot you shoveled 3 days later, like imagine if you roll up at 8pm on a Sunday, normally it's slim pickings anyway. You shouldn't just get to hoard a spot and blame it on the snow. We're not even supposed to park on the streets when it snows anyway (I know logistically it's not always possible, but still), so you know you're creating this problem by having your car there to begin with.
