@t_nutrition_fitness: And yes this includes non gear users. You are simply focused on the minor differences rather than the major similarities. So the next time you hear someone say “that’s terrible” or “that’s the worst thing you can do” and they’re a “science based” creator, MANY times they are doing an absolute disservice to the thinking of younger lifters. Took me 5 years of trial and error to even get minimal gains on my chest. Now wondering if it was just the fact that I trained my chest for 5 years lol

"bro how is the guy taking his muscle to failure consistently since 6 years and eating right staying consistent with his diet everyday so big? He is doing the unstable bench press for 5 sets! Has to be insane gear usage and godly genetics

So why do you spend all of your waking hours telling us that “science based” lifting is the best?

Finally " optimal " is debunked ( 0.1% difference is not worth it )

Someone FINALLY said it. I’ve been trying to say that most things don’t matter as long as you train hard

Incase anyone missed it, The BIGGEST variables to building muscle are:
Train frequently.
Train consistently.
Train Hard (not just mild discomfort).
Eat and sleep enough to recover from the above.
That's it's, everything else is nuance of the last 5-10%

how we define optimal is a solution to a problem. if you're short on time and chasing health, the optimal approach is compound lifts with 1-2 sets per exercise. if you want to be a professional bodybuilder, the optimal approach is to prioritize isolation movements.

Put us on some game what are the top 5 things to nail down besides lifting heavy n hard, getting 8 hours of sleep, tracking every morsel of food that enters the body, and progressively overloading

if you lift in the afternoon and obviously eat through out the day do you still need the 50g-100g carbs pre lift or is it not as necessary

Andrey smaev (peds notwithstanding) is a prime example of this obviously the gear helps a lot but his consistency is the key

Literally just showing up consistently year after year is 70% of the results. EVERYTHING else is fighting for the remaining 30%.

Hard agree on this. People are majoring in the minor when they are not actually doing the major first and or consistent in the first place!

I tried doing the “optimal” thing and Ive gotten stronger with volume and progressive overload. My joints feel better and I can finally break into the 200s for bench. So I hear this loud and clear.

intensity, progressive overload, eat for the body you want. its not easy but it is simple.
