@redditstories_doggo: My ex-husband currently requires a caregiver to help him with basic human functions after his recent hospitalization, and our kids are calling me a selfish jerk for not going over and providing for him, even though I have my own life now. Plus four updates. Posted by: u/Visible_Yesterday_62 #reddit #redditstories #storytime #redditdoggo #minecraftparkour #redditreadings
they are just mad because you didn't let them dump his care on you.

I hate the "if it was reveresed" argument but it definitely applies here cuz no way those grown kids would bother their dad that hard and blame him if it was their mom who was sick

Surely four adult children can pool for a professional carer

The kids haven’t even given op a real chance to defend herself so it’s like what do you want from her

so in the comment section to the original post it is revealed that he did move in with a younger woman a week after he left her, he did not marry that woman, but did go on to marry his current wife that as op said was born in the same decade as her kids and had children in elementary school... legit defiantly not that woman's problem he divorced her. this is sadly not even the only story of an adult child demanding the divorced mom to look after her ex husband. there was another one where the daughter expected her mother to hault a divorce so the mom could look after the father who was just diagnosed with cancer. like... it's over these people dont wanna be around each other anymore why are the kids entitled to demand the mother come back to help. its kind messed up.

My parents have a very amicable and friendly divorce and have for years (I mean...it wasn't actually friendly when it happened, but they learned they were better apart as cousin parents than together) I would in no way ever expect my mom to care for my dad if he was in bad health. Like, she would probably ask if we needed anything or offer to help, but I would never ask that of her unless I was struggling and even then it would still be low comitment things.
