Walter was the Greatest Football Player not just RB. He still holds the record for most passing TD’s by a RB. He was also always the backup kicker. He played on some awful Bears teams where he was the entire offense.

The reason I became a Bears fan 44 years ago. The video is accurate. Not the biggest. Not the strongest. Not the fastest. What Sweetness was though was the best all around back ever. The yards gained, the blocks he made, the receiver he was, the TD passes he threw. No. One. Better.

You knew when he got the ball, they were getting that first down or TD. Class act too. He didn’t Dance or look a fool after scoring. He just flipped the ball to the ref and jogged off the field.
