Late parents who are happy to pay out of their pockets grind my gears. I have to stay back after close and I don't get paid. It’s childcare, getting paid bare minimum is like getting blood out of a stone as it is, we don't get to keep that late fee!

Our policy states that having multiple late fees (or disregard for any policies such as arrival/departure times, sick exclusion, or refusal to participate in behaviour plans) can be reason for having your spot terminated. This goes management a way to keep parents in line with the policies even if they “don’t mind the late fees”

Late fee it is ok or else it wouldn’t be stipulated yes u have a family to go home to but like you ill be late because i was asked to work a bit late too 🤦♂️

we had a parent who said "what time do you guys close? 6? do you stay until 6 or leave when all the kids are gone? I just wanna make sure you get your hours". I appreciate the thought but no we wanna go home

the only thing that sucks about the public holiday thing is if your kid is enrolled for that day you still get charged even though your kid isn't there and they are open!!

my mom had a daycare with a point system for the parents like for workers. drop off late didn't matter but picking up lat got you points off and not calling to let us know you would be half hr late was more. If baby got two many points off they couldn't come back the late pick ups were such a problem

me when I enrolled my children.. "so I just want 2 days a week.. on any day but Monday.. 2 days in a row would be nice but im flexible if another family needs certain days".. "can I ask.. why not mondays".. "public holidays".. "oh"

Many centre's have done away with late fees because too many say it as a service fee not a deterant.
