🇨🇭Have you seen a lake this blue? 🌲 Hidden among the trees in the Bernese Oberland, Blausee is a small lake with some of the clearest water I’ve ever seen. You can actually see the fallen tree trunks at the bottom, several metres below the surface! It’s not a big lake, but there’s more to explore than you might expect. 📍 LOCATION Blausee is in the Kander Valley, near Kandersteg. You can easily combine it with a visit to Lake Oeschinen. 💧 WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL? The water is incredibly clear, with a deep blue colour. You can see submerged trees, rocks and even a sculpture beneath the surface. 🚶‍♀️ EASY TO VISIT A short walk from the entrance takes you to the lake. There are several forest paths, little bridges and viewpoints around the park. 🍽️ MORE THAN JUST A LAKE There’s a restaurant overlooking the water, an organic trout farm and even a small hotel and spa. 🚣 GLASS-BOTTOM BOAT You can take a short ride across the lake and see what’s beneath the water. It’s included in the daytime entrance ticket when operating. 🍂 BEST TIME TO VISIT Autumn is especially beautiful with the colourful trees surrounding the lake. I’d recommend visiting on a weekday or early in the morning to avoid the busiest hours. 🎫 TICKET PRICES (2026) • Adults (16+): CHF 11 weekdays / CHF 13 weekends • Children (6–15): CHF 7 / CHF 9 • Under 6: Free • Evening tickets: CHF 9–11 adults / CHF 5–7 children 🎉 A LITTLE BONUS Visiting on your birthday?
