@juliusfiedler: Sudan’s Shatat Dakwa 🇸🇩 The world is in pieces, tormented by stories that echo the very things we hoped to have learned from in the past. And with everything that’s going on, one of the most shocking crises has almost disappeared into complete silence. Yet it’s raging on every single day. The civil war in Sudan has surpassed 1,000 days at the beginning of this year, with its roots reaching back much further. More than 12 million people have been forcibly displaced and an estimated 25 million are facing acute food insecurities. Our awareness and voice matters, it’s a way to put pressure on those in power to take action, it’s a way to make a difference. sudanese here:
its not a dip its more of an accoutrement. also it's not cooked it's hammered down to a paste and then mixed with lemon, salt, yougurt or black peper depending on your preferance and what you have. it's supposed to be hot thats why it's a side dish

logically it can use as a dip
for us Sudanese we make it this way but without the onion, garlic and tomatoes paste and not being cooked like this.
but the way he made it is creative
mostly to make the hot chillis a bit cooler , Dakwa ( Sudanese beanut butter) can added.
also the taste of the Dakwa is more unique than the normal beanut butter
in the Dakwa you can taste the true rosted beanut since its not very smooth as the normal beanut butter, and can be used in many ways for cooking mostly with salty food.
the the way to crash the beans into Dakwa is traditional way that's why the taste is much better and natural

This is more like a side sauce, you use a little bit of it with meat or the main course in general

U should try it. U can also make a no-cooking needed version by just simply using unsweetened oragnic peanut butter mix it w lemon juice salt pepper chilli flakes or chili powder and a bit of water till it makes a smooth almost runny like consistency. Add the sauce to some chopped tomato and cucumber to make dakwa salad ( u can almost add any veggies u like to the sauce or use it without veggies ).add a little bit of sesame oil ( or any kind u like ) and enjoy. We usually it with pita bread or sourdough.
